Witnessing your child struggle can feel confusing and intolerable. You may be experiencing your teen withdrawing, appearing irritable, struggling socially, and struggling with their self-esteem. Individual therapy offers a dedicated and safe space for your teen to explore their evolving inner and outer worlds without fear of judgment. I use a combination of talk and art therapy to equip your teen with practical tools to address specific problems they are having while helping them build a positive self-image.
I find that my therapeutic approach is particularly effective and resonates with teens who are sensitive and creative.
I offer support to teens experiencing:
- Gender Dysphoria: I provide a safe space for teens exploring their gender identity, helping them navigate the complexities of self-discovery and providing support in fostering a positive sense of self and overall well-being.
- Self-Harm: I work collaboratively with teens to address issues of self-harm by exploring healthier coping mechanisms, supporting emotional resilience, and providing an environment where open communication about their struggles is encouraged.
- Suicidal Ideation: I approach suicidal ideation with empathy and direct attention. I work closely with teens to develop any needed safety plans as well as support them in developing emotional resilience.
- Anxiety: I assist teens in understanding and addressing their anxiety through skill-building to support them in navigating the stressors in various aspects of their lives.
- Depression: I provide empathetic support for teens experiencing depression, collaboratively exploring the root causes and building skills to navigate their emotions and care for their well-being into adulthood.
